Surging problem

Hi everyone,

I am running a AU XR8 engine that has started a surging type of problem whilst cruising at around 60kms/hr and has a slight flat spot just on the throttle from idle position.
If I slow down, go around a intersection then put the foot down to accelerate away there is the flat spot then surging before it accelerates.

The motor is bog stock and hasn't always done.

I fitted a low pressure fuel filter before the pump, replaced the pump and high pressure filter with little change.

Any suggestions on what it could be or if it could even be electrical.

Cheers Ross

Could be clagged up oxy sensors or maybe your throttle body air sensor is dirty, also voltage drops to the sensors can cause this problem.

I had that problem at first & found a leak in vacuum line at the rear of mine right beside the vac sensor

Has it got an airflow meter? That would be my guess or O2 sensors. Scan for codes or try disconnecting the sensors to see if they make a difference.

After checking everything I could it turned out to be the speed sensor in the gearbox.
