Wow I thought the Kiwi Ozzie thing was one way traffic only. They have several different breeds of Cobras running around in the "Land of the long white cloud". You'll find a way of getting it all papered.

Hi
you are moving close to my old stomping grounds, if you need some help I have a long time family friend just out of Hamilton that imports cars from the US all the time. He should be able to point you in the right direction if needed.
Good luck with the move.

Hi Greg,
We have a system known as LVVTA ( low volume vehicle testing authority ) which covers all self build stuff like Cobras GT40 along with Hot Rods, engine swaps etc, fairly straight forward and I have a mate who put a FF 34 coupe thru the process, only issue with that was lack of welding certification for the kit supplied wishbones etc, the certification process is run in conjunction with the Hot Rod association in NZ with certifying engineers throughout the country.
I doubt you will be allowed to get it certed as LHD so should look into swapping sides ( rack / column / and pedal box swap ).
Sounds like Cobra Kiwi can give you a contact in the Hamilton area & might be able to line you up with a suitable engineer ahead of time and you could discuss this before car leaves Canada. Our equivalent of the DMV can be pretty savvy and pedantic lot if you try to bend the rules so take care, no chance of getting it thru as a genuine 65 Cobra Im afraid!:)

I grew up in Hamilton but left in about 1986. Went back a few years ago and it had changed a lot. Good central location though. Only an hour and a half drive from Auckland or Tauranga.

If I worked in Hamilton again I reckon I'd like to live out at Cambridge. Nice rural town that I always liked the look of. It's commuting distance to Hamilton (24KM away). I'm used to driving near twice that to work now.

Cheers

I was not aware that planes flew to NZ from Oz with passenger seating as an option?

Greg have you arranged for a special charter??

I've spent some time surfing/MTBing/Shooting/Jet boating over there and its a bloody amazing place. I'd move there tomoz....especially now MR VIP has built that race track!!
