Nats
Another fantastic event, well run, great weather and amazing cars........
I would like to thank the NSWCCC for organsing the event and especially to Wazza for the wit and MC duties......... you do have a lot of material to choose from (Rat Roasters) ........... See you next year...... Stiffy |
Thanks to the NSW organisers for a great weekend with well organised race and social events ( the final night table service was excellent) . For some like me it ended up a spectator sport on Friday practice with a gearbox that threw a bearing, or two, and sounded like a kid's rattle. So instead of packing up and sneaking home with the sh**s stayed and watched and enjoyed.
Referring to the contentious post, and from being the Secretary of the Event a few years ago, there must be more to this than is let on. We would willingly take entries as late as the day before, but they were relegated to not getting all the goodies and usually were non cobra class cars which had no bearing on the results. Knowing the numbers were down this year I tried to get a few friends in 'rice burners' to come along, and was told that they would have been welcomed at late notice. |
sounds like a good rime was had by all :-) ,im pencilling this for next yr car ready or not and would have tried for this trs but I had other commitments crewing for a mate of mine in the middle of no where at a place called Roxby downs about a 7 hr drive from where we live .
we had a good weekend the state titles where a 2 round affair and our driver come 4th out right in the state titles and 4 th on the day against some really big buck engines so we was a happy team and had many happy drinks at presentation . ive told my mate he will be crewing for me next time at the cobra nationals glad ya all had fun dean |

Brad doesn't seem too concerned...( Running in oil was not up to the job)....he's ready to fix it up...and maybe even a bit of modification,as soon as he gets home.
I just drove in about 10 minutes ago, after about 2,400 klm, and a week away....tired, but enjoyed it all immensely. It was very chilly when I left Goulburn yesterday morning...and bloody hot arriving here on the Gold Coast today. Thanks to all of the people that made the Nationals happen, and looking forward to next year already. Sorry to anyone that I may have offended in carrying out my M.C. duties.....you know how sensitive I am to everyone's feelings at those things....Ha Ha !! And.....Don't worry too much about that previous post...I'm well aware of everything that happened...and it's not worth spoiling the Nationals over one gripe....we can sort it out later. Cheers, Warren |
So is it True Waz? Did Andrew's concrete coated CR whip the mighty LS7 powered Harrisons butt? :P
|
I have no memory of that ......it MIGHT have happened, but it didn't matter....I was just there for the camaraderie !
The MIGHTY LS7 went well...Drags weren't a real bother....but it's first decent run on the track, had me a little nervous. Unlike the "Trailer Queens" , I had to keep it one piece to get home. Fuse LIT ! Cheers, Warren. |
LOL!
I can understand not wanting to push to hard when you have to drive home. Cheers |
The heat from the tyre warmers...and the stench of tyre softener coming from Andrew's garage was overpowering !!
Actually....Those were awesome times from the Kumho KU36 tyres... I couldn't get comfortable on them, and having been spoiled by a lot of years on semi slicks or slicks, it was hard work to keep it on the black stuff. Car needs a bit of sorting out if I wanted to do a lot of racing, and I promised myself, ( and her indoors), that I wouldn't race this one .....much ! Cheers, Warren |

A big thanks to the CCC of NSW for the daughters suprise Birthday cake and best wishes for her
18th Birthday, and to Wazza for being nice to her, she was expecting worse. Lucky she is not from Venezuela..... Cheers |
so much to comment on here....
most importantly a great weekend, thanks to the guys from NSW club and my old Dad braving it out on the track then taking pride in chequer flagging me on one of the few runs where is didn't bloody spin off:confused: as one of Wazzas' pit mates, I felt for him plodding around at 15's after 5's in his red racer in previous years. He was ready to take his bat n ball and go home on Sunday morning:JEKYLHYDE. Good onya for having a crack in your pride and joy mate:) Apologies from me letting down the moroon side with only a couple of measly 3rds on Saturday. It's worth mentioning (again) that the King and Queen were from the Sunshine State....the 2 support acts fail to perform. Bloody stupid rules anyway! Spook gets the award for persistance...I didn't know about the gut ache but that bloody car of yours, I'd be demanding a refund. As for the grizzler....I've heard surprisingly that there's LOTS more to the story... Bring on 2015 |
She's a good kid....no worries.
I like how I'm still looking down the track to where I was WANTING to be going.... Luckily, I didn't do too much of that spinning thingy. Cheers, Warren. |

Yeah...I managed a 1m.14 sec.....and let me tell you... it was just as hard as the 1m.05secs in the red car. The winning time of 1m 10 secs on those Kumhos was pretty impressive..... The car must be really set up well, and combined with some great driving. |
