Shannons Days of Thunder
Disappointingly I can't make it to the Qld Club's track day.
I note the Qld Raceways are still noting a Cobra GT40 event in their Days of Thunder event on June 21 22. I know that the club is not supporting this for 2014 due to clashes with dates, however is anyone from here attending? |

Was an OK weekend. I went up Saturday and helped Geoff and Ash.
Greg Q in his GT40 and Timmy T in his Porsche also raced. Geoff had issues with his rear rotors cracking and while Ash went well early, he had a larger issue later in the weekend that rained on his parade. Full kudos to both of them. They're parked up alongside some very SERIOUS machinery and can hold their heads high as to their performance against seasoned competitors. Weather was OK, warm in fact. Crowd was down and imo the support classes were wanting. 8 cars in Porsche Sprints is pretty bloody woeful. Certainly missed that big banger feel. Lots of good clean racing but the event has never been the same since SHANNONS dropped their naming rights sponsorship. Geoff T car had only its 2nd shake down/outing.
