Help required
Hi Guys,,
Looking for some help, I have a square tubed C.R number 3174. The time has come to rebuild my diff. So far I have removed everything form the diff and the diff housing is sitting loose on the diff support brackets. Unfortunately I can't seem to slide the housing out between the support frame. So I decided it was beer time and ask for help. Then go but and have another look. At present the only way to get the housing out it appears is to remove the rear suspension on one side. This is doable but just thought I would ask before I go down that path. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rod |
Sorry Rod but you have to remove the suspension on one side and roll the diff out the side. I cant remember which side though. I think it only comes out one way.

I thought that might be the case. Just got to workout which side to try. I will give a go tonight. Thanks Rod |
Hey Roda, did you figure out which side?
I need to take mine out at some stage after I get my spare centre serviced. |
Hi Dave,
Yes it has to be removed from the left hand side. Just by chance that was the side I started on. Had to remove the fuel tank and then take out the upper and lower arms on the suspension. Then with a bit of swearing you can manoeuvre it out. It will be a bit easier for you because you have the hoist and your not just laying on floor and hoping you don't drop on your head. Good luck. Jeez David, that self imposed exile didn't last long....
Welcome back |
I have taken mine out several times unfortunately :(
It is easiest from the passenger side. |
