Cheaper than a Cobra?

All

I still regularly check eBay for prices of HK Monaros as well as other cars and found this recently. Looks like it sold for $15000. BARGAIN!! Just some light bodywork to attend to.

Hey....
There's another one for Deano to consider !!!!:LOL:
Have they got the paperwork on it ??

But seriously....what a bloody shame...my favourite car of all time...always wanted one.

Back in the 1970's, there were a couple of "mint" HK Monaros in Ipswich owned by mates.

Great memories...big nights at the Surfers Paradise drags...low 13 secs...and just beautiful cars.

Closest I came was a HK Premier...also a nice car for a young bloke in those days.

Cheers.

Same here Wazza, back in the early seventies having a Monaro was the ultimate. A friend of mine (next door neighbour actually) had an Orange Bathurst model with 350 small block, 4 barrel, Duntov pink cam and a Muncie Rock Crusher that needed 2 hands on the gearstick and both feet on the dash to change gear and any lip from the passenger would see them deposited into the parcel shelf in no short order.

Well, the passenger windows looks intact...

What's the chance the new owner jacks up the VIN plate and bolts another body underneath it?

Then again, if it undergoes a legit restoration, realistically it will probably retain as much original bodywork as a rebodied vehicle...

u are really not going to like me now wazza I put one of these in a demo derby about 30 yrs ago when they was cheap and as common as commodores I got crunched by a Studebaker lark and that was the end of that :-) cant recall if it had paper work or not at the time lol

Craig, I reckon you are on to it. The car was advertised with a complete and original 307 powerglide drivetrain so i reckon these, along with the Warwick Yellow GTS tags will be swapped to a better body.

Warren, have a look at mine. I'll swap your Cobra for it!!!!!
