Bonding rubber to rubber?

I'm using rubber extrusions to make a few weatherproofing pieces. I have purchased some "self vulcanizing patches" off eBay which I hope to use but there are a few point where these may not work out.

Does anyone, including any old cobblers, who is aware of a product or technique which will bond rubber to rubber. The joins will not be under much load but they need to be waterproof. Thanks.

Sticking rubber

Super glue bonds rubber instantly and is waterproof.
Cheers,
Bryan

Yep superglue, also Clarke Rubber sell a glue which works on rubber, I suspect it may be the same active ingredient as super glue.

best is vulcanizing under pressure and temperatur. At home not so easy.
Weatherstrips today are made of EPDM. There are not so many self vulcanizing products for this Polymer, so...

best at home is the cyancrylate glue ( fast glue / superglue?). Not 100 % waterresistance, but for our use in an cobra almost OK

cheers,
Frank

Yep...Sikaflex will work a treat. Just don't get it on your hands!

Otherwise, Wurth sell a Rubber Cement which works well too.

Are you referring to 11FC specifically?

Could you elaborate a little on why you are recommending it, thanks.

I tested Sikaflex 252 I kept stored in the fridge. It was useless!

I couldn't find it available under 1kg package.

What about this 3M product

3M 8011 weather strip adhesive

Have not tried it but it seems to be the right glue for what you are doing

Don't let it set in the gaps of your fingernails, thinking you can peel it out in one piece later on.
I did that about 10 years ago, one nail has never been the same. Doctor couldn't give me an answer either.

Loctite make a special rubber glue that has been the best I have found so far.
It has a primer spray also for better bonding.
It is designed for joining o rings when needing to make them up.

WOW... Thanks. I tried Loctite 406 and the test results were fantastic.

My thanks to others who posted, the super glues were close to the money but nowhere near a good as the Loctite 406.
