Ok thanks

Lee, my steering wheel is pretty close, my knuckles almost hit the dash...

Geof, I'll look into getting that belt reel out behind the rear cockpit wall.

Sambo, so does the belt come out high, like a parcel shelf horizontal installation?

I reccon that the cradle mount impedes my seat position as much as the belt reel though.

I've had bloody seatbelt dramas with the Dax as well, it comes all set up for racing harnesses which are compliant in the UK. No need for retracting belts over there.

Greg, the belt comes out over the shoulder as if you were sitting in the passenger seat in a modern car. I'll post a photo over the weekend if I can find one.

You can legally fit harnesses if you get the right ones in Australia too.

Im 6ft 4in but purchased a Harrison rolling chassis with the extra 100mm in there and worked around that.
I also had the floor dropped to pick up the bottom of the chassis rail as this gave me an ideal seat height. I have a long back so on all 'sports cars' I eat bugs or look straight through the top of the screen.
Lowering floor helps quite a bit with leg room around the steering wheel, as my legs hit the wheel on real cobras kirkam and robnells so I had to avoid that issue as well.
Good luck with it all.
