New PACE 427SL build for Sydney

Well I've been gathering lots of information from many of the knowledgeable contributors on this forum and have finally decided to place a deposit on the PACE kit.

I met with Craig yesterday and toured the factory. Very impressive. My decision was an easy one after seeing what Craig has developed and is manufacturing. I have investigated other opportunities but none come close.

My build will be powered by an L98 mated to a T56 transmission and a 3.45 LSD diff. All have come from an SS donor car which I have disassembled and am selling parts.

Can't wait for the Christmas present to arrive, although it will be sometime in Q1 2015........Chassis number 45, red, 15".

Cheers

Sam

Well Done Sam

Just remember it's the way you get out of the Cobra that preserves the jeans ( private joke).

You won't be disappointed with your decision.

A word of advice measure twice and drill once haha.

Cheers

Brad

Welcome aboard Sam. Very exciting.

Interesting to see you've already done the donor car work! I'm doing it the other way, kit first then engine. But as the diff needs to go in early in the build, and my kit is due soon, I think I need to get a hurry up with the VE donor. Doing same as you in that regard.

Anyway, congrats. Announced on the same day the first Pace427 was registered too!

Brad,
I tried another car for size yesterday and I certainly had only one thing on my mind when I got in and out.

I went for the SL (long) version so should eliminate any further jean issues.

Cheers

Thanks Guy,

I did the donor first so that I get it out of the way. My garage is bigger than the standard double garage but the boss must have a spot so working in one bay trying to do a bit of building and dis assembly was just not feasible.
I have just about covered the cost of the donor with the items I have already sold.....gives me pretty much a no cost drive train. Picked up the donor at Pickles auctions as a write off. Just some suspension damage.

Cheers

Hi Dean,
thanks. I have had red cars since 1997 so it was a no-brainer. The only drawback in using a donor car has been trying to sell bits and pieces......the purchasers quite often don't turn up.
I took a camera to Pace but got so involved in the discussions and tour that I did not take 1 photo! There was a GT40 and a 427 being welded but can't recall the number.
Mine should start in about 3 weeks so I'm told.

Cheers

Sam

Welcome to the forum Sam, great to see you here.

The model of your PACE 427 is actually a "SSL". Super Street & Super Long model.
