cross ram injection for LS3

For anyone that is (shame...) installing a square port Chev (LS3, L98, L76, L77 etc) engine into their cobra..... this would look pretty cool... It would require an ECU (factory or other) that didn't have a fly by wire system.

Maybe a few of these Absolute Pace guys might be interested.....

Ash,

I have been doing research on LS manifolds in the last month or so, and it looks like those manifolds are cheapies also sold in Australia by Speedmaster.

There appears to be little feedback from anyone who has used them, but beware that they may have sticky butterflies when hot.....

I am planning on talking to Dale at Castle Hill Performance soon to find out if he has tuned one of these.

Cheers,

Ben

Don't like throttle bodies linked like that and driven from end.

Synchronising levers are bound to bend with that many springs.

What to do about linkage to get both banks linked up?

Personally I would go with the experience of these guys:

A lot of people put OBX quality on a par with ProComp. For those who have endured the drama of dealing with ProComp garbage, it might be worth steering clear...
Shaun's, Morrisson, Harrop. Ahhh, lots of great options amongst them. It's only money!

And if you want Mercury High performance Racing make a nice twin cam 4 valve per cylinder heads for an LS.

Mecury Racing Teases 4-Valve LS Cylinder Heads at SEMA 2014

Not sure when they will be available but they will also release them as a short or long motor.
I'm a Mercury High Performance Dealer so expect release dates soon.

Those are really cool. What do you think on pricing? $8k for the set-up?

Towmaster 11-25-2014 06:30 PM

The purpose of this thread was to show some people a cheaper alternative ($2000) to the $5000 - $8000 cross ram inlet manifolds that we have all researched and drooled over.

Peter Hancock (current King Cobra) has the same OBX throttle bodies on his car.... Sure he modified them a little to stop the sticking but nonetheless it is an OBX manifold and butterflies. The 363 cube hydraulic roller cammed small block Windsor made 503hp at the rear wheels..... Not too bad...

They haven't released pricing yet I expect that shortly. Possibly after Christmas
