Quite Sidepipes?

I am thinking of putting side pipes on, but I am unsure if it is possible to get them quite enough to pass the noise test without loosing heaps of power. Any one done this, or do I just go with under car exhaust. My engineer says I can get an exception for the sidepipes.

Talk to Rob. He is a member here using the nick renovationinnov.
He was at my place recently and I was super impressed with how quiet his side pipes were.

what is the DB level you must not exceed?

Dwight in Alabama USA

no DB requirement here so they can hear me 1 1/2 miles at 6000 rpms:LOL:

I think the test involves a stationary test and a drive by test at wide open throttle, have to read up a little more on the test procedure but I think the noise level cant exceed around 92 db. Much the same as any current model car has to pass.

Different states do it in different ways, but in Vic I believe it's a stationary test and 89db
