Previous Qld Cobra Club member on My Kitchen Rules!

I just saw an advertisement for My Kitchen Rules, and the next featured team are a couple of mates from Queensland.

Bugger me, it's Rob McKean! He used to own a really tidy deep purple DRB with a twin carb 302 that was making a very respectable 300rwhp back about 14 or 15 years ago. Robbo and his gorgeous wife were always great to catch up with.

He sold the Cobra, got into property development, bought and drag raced a nitrous big block Impala, ran a custom exhaust shop...and now he's a bushy bearded dude on a cooking show!!!

In the spirit of any type of competition, GO QUEENSLAND! I'll have to watch Mondays show now, because if he is half as ocker and blokey as he used to be, it should be good for a laugh.

Cool! You mean the guys that want to be the 'first two BLOKES to win MKR?' - never watch the show but that's from the promos.

Yep, the hairy dude with the hat.

Rob was active in the club back before Morgan Park was extended (and when fast Freddie used to average more than one spin per lap even on the short track). Col from Col's Auto was usually up there, along with Big Bad Billy Bradnam. Don Hughes was running inch-perfect lines through the right-hander, lap after lap in his RMC. West Wyalong was the venue for the nationals, and all of it was captured in absolutely hilarious detail in the monthly Snaketales newsletter by Ted Stocks from the Casa del Costalot.

I wonder if anyone has the old Snaketales files saved electronically still?

Yeah I remember Rob. He sold his DRB about the same time I sold mine back in the day. We used to hang around the same group of people when he had his Impala. I had my Mustang and Capri at that stage I think??? Nice guy and you are right, his wife was a looker!!!!;)
