Ok so for all the Sunshine Coasters (North Brisbane splinter group ha ha) who don't want to drive down to meet the rest at the Shell (McDonalds) at Nudgee we have arranged a meeting point up here.
The meeting time and point for the rest of us that will be joining the run from the Sunny Coast is the BP Service Station at Landsborough. Reason being is that it is at the point where everyone from down south will get to and then turn to make the run up the hill.
The time to be there is 10am sharp! That way we should all be there at around the same time. We can refuel there if you want to and there is plenty of room for parking and it is accessible for all the roads that come into Landsborough.
I have cleared this with El Presidente, the Mexicans, oops I mean southerners.... should be rolling through town at about that time.
If you have any questions about where it is or whatever I can be contacted on 0412 triple seven 461.
If there are people that don't get on the forum can we please make sure they know?
Wazza will also be sending an email to the club members.
Now I have to get back to the shed and make sure the old girl is put back together and running by Saturday.....
Cheers,
Ash.

What a great day and a good chance to catch up with Steve. A couple of inconsequential showers on the way up and perfect weather to go home via the Woodford twisty roads on the way back.
Thanks for organising it Wazza.

Unfortunately I got to the meeting point in my car and the alternator was t charging.... Luckily Craig offered me a drive of his left hand drive big block beast. Thanks very much Craig for the opportunity! Such a different car to mine, love the live side pipes!

No worries Ash. Hope the side pipe didn't leave much of a mark!
I think Wazza has some group photos. I never think to take photos after we arrive. All I have in mind when I get out of the car is coffee or beer and good conversation. Actually, "good conversation" on the weekend actually meant "see how many one-legged jokes Wazza and Ash can tell Steve"...!!!
So here are the only pics I have.
On the way up - Jim's Harrison up ahead and the clouds are looking ominous...
Clouds not looking so bad now - Donunder's Arntz in front.
Mount Tibrogargan in the distance. Troy's 511 cubic inch Viper powered Cobra in front has the torque to move that mountain!
Ummm... Pine trees and evidence that my fire extinguisher is charged. Not sure who's behind me - my eyesight isn't that good...
The Arntz getting some fuel at a cool little corner store on the way home.
The drive home was unreal. The combined noises of four cars with very different engines (Big Block Chev, solid roller cam 400+ cube Windsor, V10 Viper, and 427 FE Big Block Ford) winding through some great back roads was fantastic.

A few pics of the weekend up at Montville and Mapleton.
The purpose of the trip was to not only enjoy a nice run in the cars....but also to visit Steve Barbe, who had recently had some poor health issues.
Steve was able to join us in his wheelchair...and despite complaining to me that his leg “didn’t seem to be growing back”....all was well.....
We all have a sick sense of humour !!
Great to see him in good spirits, and I’m sure he’ll come through this.
We had a few showers, but it was a good roll up of about 40 people, and Steve wanted me to let everyone who came, how much he appreciated the visit.
Here’s a link that should open a few pics.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/31ruu9m8e...2KuDPVk4a?dl=0
(For any who don’t know him....Steve is the guy in the Red and Black Cobra shirt, and as always.. wearing his Cobra cap.)
Thanks to all who came along.
Cheers,
Warren

Thanks for the pics Wazza. I've come to realise that I'm not really sure who in the club is on this forum.
Let me know if you don't want your ugly mug identified and I'll remove them, but here are a few screen names to faces...
(Warren, I had to laugh when I saw this photo after you told Steve he could order anything on the menu - your shout!)
Who have I missed?

Was good to see " Them Southerners" up on the Coast. We will have to put on some better weather for next time. Also good to see Mick Schipper, once more making the trip down from Bundaberg. Good on ya Mick. Murray
