Brisbane: Got any jag wheels for sale?

Hi Guys,

Back on the forum after a lengthy break.

I failed my second run at Pineapple St back in late 2013, through a tarp over the Cobra, started a business and had a kid.

Interesting defect items included holes in the custom exhaust, easy to see when you have ceramic coating (PM if you wan't to know who claims they know how to build an exhaust but clearly doesn't).

The second item of four included wheels not having ADR markings.

Does anyone have a set of 17" jags with good rubber they are looking to sell?

Must have ADR markings!

Hi Adguy
Good to see you back. I think an early model holden has the same nut pattern and may be easier and cheaper.

hq i believe i think the centre bore hole might be a mm or 2 different tho

Ad Guy 04-26-2015 08:26 PM

Thanks Jeff,

PCD is fine but I think the centre bore will need machining which starts to make buying a better exercise.

What do they mean by ADR markings? There's plenty of Cobras that have gone through rego with aftermarket wheels. I know of no ADR number that needs to be on there but I'm willing to be re-educated. There are some numbers that give the Rim Width, Bead type, PCD etc. Would you be able to measure and check these yourself and then mark the rim accordingly?

Here's an explanation of the numbers.

That's been a busy year and a half for you!

When you read page 20 of this document, it indicates that the wheels need some form of marking for an adherence to industrial standards, but it needn't be an ADR marking.

What wheels do you have currently?

albanycobra 04-27-2015 08:19 PM

I think it's just the JJ markings

Currently have Vintage Pin Wheels with Spinners.

Anyone live near these wheels? I am pretty keen on getting them for one of my projects.

750hp 05-01-2015 06:53 AM

Ad Guy, did you get the defect while driving on the road, or is this a "failed" safety certificate?
If RECTFIY isn't a word, does that exempt you from having to meet the requirements???

Dave, the price of B45s has come down a lot. For example, this guy is selling a set of 15" B45 in Vic for $800 negotiable (Ford PCD though)

What PCD are you looking for?

Ad Guy 05-03-2015 06:23 PM

After a bit more digging I found out these defects need to be "cleared" by a further inspection.

Some defects are "self-clearing" eg get a roadworthy. These are not the case for this defect notice as it was generated at the Department Inspection.

Brett, don't know if you have met him before, that guy is Matt Tap. He knocked around with us for a while way back. I saw him at the Nats 2013.

I think he's still on our mailing list.

BJ's Snake 05-05-2015 01:41 AM

Thanks Dave,
In that case I would steer clear of anything from him.
Dudded quite a few people around here in his time and good chance you will
part with your money and not see the goods.

Just sayin'

Ad Guy 05-07-2015 07:23 PM

Brett, might be easier to buy in Brisbane. Thanks for the offer, very good of you.
