AP016 has arrived
My Pace427 arrived last week. She left QLD at 1pm on a sunny Monday afternoon and arrived in cold wet Melbourne on Wednesday morning at 4:30am.
I can’t thank Craig and his team at Absolute Pace enough for storing my Kit in their showroom for close to 9 months while I waited for my workshop to be built. Then at the 11th hour I threw a huge spanner in the works by changing my engine choice. Craig’s response to the Engine change was, “No problem all part of the service” My build trolley came in very handy during the delivery and the unpacking stage. I made the top section of the trolley removable. When we slid the crate off the Tilt truck we placed the bottom section of the trolley under the crate. This made moving the whole crate and kit very easy. Once in the carpark it took me about 2 – 3 hours in between the rain to unpack the Kit and move it off the packing crate and into my workshop. Moving the body and chassis off the crate was pretty easy because it’s so light. I slide it off the crate and on to the top section of my build trolley, then jacked it up on to Jack Stands before sliding the trolley under the body and chassis. Now my Kit is all unpacked and waiting for me to start. If all goes to plan I should get the body off soon and start building iT : ) Just have to get the Whiteboard up on the wall. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13718 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13719 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13720 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13721 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13722 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13723 |

great too see them rolling out the doors . there must be a few of those blue ones around now it seems a popular colour choice .
those wheels are awesome cheers dean |
any chance of the measurements for the trolley you made i need to build mine and have it ready
cheers dean |
Yeah some measurements would be good.
Love the gelcoat...always spins me out at the quality of the fibreglass...sorry Fellas but I have been the Victim of some really bad fibreglass in the past.... Oh and Woo Hoo...... love it when a new Toy arrives...the nervous apprehension as you unpack and the ooo's and Ahhh's as you check all the bling. What tyres are fitted to your Wheels? They look like Avons.... |

Congratulations! Great to see yet another AP car well on the way. I will be following with interest!
Cheers, Glen |
Well done. With our cobra community seemingly in very good health and growing steadily I can see the Nats 2016/17 being an event that lasts a week not just 2 days! Keep the build threads going and enjoy the process.

Nice choice of engine looking forward on your building progress.

Hi Darryl
Its about time you started on the build so we can all see your progress and results. I think that I helped to pack your kit at Pace so if you are missing anything you can maybe blame me haha. I still get a HUGE smile on my face EVERY time that I drive my Absolute Pace 427 SC Cobra. We will have to compare smiles when you get your Cobra finished to see who has the biggest grin. Just get stuck in to the build and enjoy the ride and experience. Cheers Brad |
Another build thread, another dream fulfilled, another opportunity for mates to get together and do stuff with metal whilst having a beer and another Aussie made creation.
You buddy beauty. Congrats on your delivery, whenever I see that colour I can't help think to pair it with orange and give it some Gulf stickers. Keep the updates coming.... Often. |
Right on Leroy!

Top job all round. A few nice little engine mods to accomodate that beast of an engine too.
Look forward to a few beer nights thinking about what to do next, Darryl. Pretty close for me on the way home from work - kind of. |

Thanks for all the comments.
The Tyres are Avons CR6ZZ 245/60/15 & 295/50/15 I'm smiling and looking forward to a long cold winter here in Melbourne and lots of shed time. Below is my build trolley, the base of this design was taken from the AP build manual and I changed a few things to suit my own needs and future projects. I've used 50x50X5mm box tubing and 125mm Castor wheels. This trolley may not be suitable for other Cobra kits so check and measure first. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13727 |

Congrats. You must be over the moon. I love the colour, engine choice, tyres and wheels. Are they 'Vintage' rims? What back space have you on the rims? Baz |
