Pickles Auctions

Hi who seen the AC cobra at Pickles Auction S.A. its about $15000.

dave295 06-05-2015 11:35 PM

It's being auctioned at the moment. If you are interested watch the auction between 11 and midday on Wednesday, that is when it will get serious. If you make a successful bid after 11.51am the clock re-sets for ten minutes. If someone else makes a bid after that the clock will re-set for ten minutes and so on.
The successful bidder then gets their credit card/bank account debited for the deposit. 48 hours to pay in full.
When no-one bids for ten minutes (at or after 12.00pm) the listing disappears.
You will need to register with Pickles before bidding.
Have fun!!
Dave

Circa 01, AC Cobra, Replica, Roadster - Pickles Auctions Australia

It looks in fair nick for a 14 year old car.
Any ideas as to the manufacturer?
Difficult to see what lurks underneath given you are buying it sight unseen.
As it's unlicensed it may require a fair bit to get it back on the road.

An Evans or Classic Glass by the looks.

Cheers

Aaron

did anyone see what it went for? , I forgot about it?
Sorry aaron you must have been typing just that bit quicker than me.

jcraigau 06-09-2015 08:58 PM

$25,600

dave295 06-09-2015 08:59 PM

25.6 + FEES of about 500-550.

BJ - Looking at the front and rear wheel arch lip on this and comparing it to mine, I'd agree with the Evans comment. It also has the double opening at the front which is similar. Plus having the Jag front and rear is a similar set-up.
Mine is chassis 002 and I know it is a lot older than 14 years.
I haven't seen a Classic Glass vehicle, so no comment.

Hopefully the new owner starts a thread to introduce the car and any rebuild options required to get it back on the road.

Hello Guys

Name is MarK

Thought I would introduce myself Long Time Lurker on your site, been doing a bit of homework on cobras and hopefully be in a position to buy this time next year.
I must say some of your cars are stunning.
I own a 1966 Stang GT convertible at the moment.

Just out of interest the pickles car is back up on the website for sale, I assume it fell through due to the state of registration or something like that, as it seems that its a lot clearer now that the car is not registered on the site.

It's a Classic Glass from Adelaide, same as mine which was built completely by them, this one looks like it has had a make over probably . All their bodies 100mm longer for extra leg room and allowance for seats to mount on rails. to , similarities in dash instrument mainly warning light cluster in front of steering wheel is from either triumph or healy. Engine bay looks same as mine did ,chassis construction same ( from what's seen in engine bay) and classic glass fitted large commodore radiator at an angle with either push or pull fan, position of gear shift and short shift most likely a Supra box which they fitted to manuals behind windsor small blocks, hand brake same, boot lid hinges same.
Don't know about being '01', mines 91/92 model.
Usually Classic Glass mounted a brass VIN plate with manufacture date, chassis No. and name of who it was built for. VIN No. also stamped into top of cross member in front of engine ( that may be it on the firewall).

If this is the blue one your referring to, it has a WE Sports cars sticker in the engine bay.

Paul Wooley and Martin Evans where the guys behind WE Sports cars. Paul Wooley actually started Classic Glass some years earlier and sold out to the vege growers deano59 knows, Cocci brothers?

This is why these two kits are almost identical.
