hello everyone new member here
i am based in rural vic australia have looked here many times i own an ac cobra body was made by autostyling in wa it took me 13 years to build and i regoed it in 2003 does not get driven much probably done 3,000 ks but enjoyed building it Robert |
Hi and welcome Robert. Congratulations on persisting and completing an Autostyling kit. I use the term kit loosely as they didn't come with much. You maybe interested to know it was an Autostyling that took out top gong in the Show n shine at the very first Nationals at Mildura.
Tell us a bit about it; engine transact etc, colour, wheels, trials and tribulations of the build and rego process. Or even a pic or two Cheers |
thanks david yep it was a long haul i built it as i had the money
and all i got was a body that i bought of some one else but also had some spare parts the screen and frame i was told that robnell used as there template color is black with stripes engine 460bb stroker to 514 bullnose toploader with a sequntial shifter to a jag rearend lsd runs on straight gasresearch throttles to an ida manifold 3 engineers first i think his name was gary george 2/werner ilse ithink was his name3/ bisiteknics chris |
Welcome! That's a pretty cool drivetrain combo with the big block and sequential shifted toploader!

Hi Chris,
Good to see you on the forum and thanks again for volunteering to look at that V8 Supercar for me. You should make the trip over to the Nationals this year mate! Ash. |

was all a scam last of cobra photos |
Hi Chris,
Did you run your 7' replica at the Geelong speed trials a couple of years ago? |
I'm a bit confused here - is it Chris or Robert? maybe just cg514.
Anyway, did you have a chassis fabricated or pick one up from a cobra kit supplier? What front end bits? It would have been a long haul just starting with a body. An Auto Styling I've seen was just a body shell, no cockpit. doors, boot and bonnet were still two piece needed to have the inners bonded. I looked into them in about '85 and left them alone as the guy told me to use an MGB windscreen. We're spoilt with what's available today |
Did no-one else notice the GT40 back there?
