WOW, that is a beautiful Cobra and you should be proud of it. I really like the color. As for the 15" tires, good ones are getting harder to find around here and I went to the 17" wheels for that reason, but you can still find good 15" tires if you can find the right place to look. Congratulations on a great car and you will have enough fun with it to make up for any questions.

Ron :)

Anyone know where to source the goodyear stencil?

Nice car...Nice colours.
I'm curious...are those knock on wheels/Pin Drives....or bolt on wheels with the cover caps?
I thought they were bolt ons but I see the safety wire as well ?!....
Either way...they look nice.
Cheers,
Warren.

Regarding tires, I believe the mickey thompsons have (from the factory) white stencil on one side and blackwall (not flat though, it still has mickey thompson written on it in raised letters) on the other.

perhaps if fitted black-side-out it could still be stencilled in white letters of your choice?

Wazza will probably know, as I think he uses them a bit?

Mike, that's correct re the MT's. You can grind/shave down the MT lettering and stencil away.

Of course, the Avons are complete blackwall on both sides with only a little raised Avon lettering (which can be removed). These are the best 15" tyres to buy if budget is of lesser concern.

Hi Warren,

Thanks for the kind words. The colour wasn't my first choice but is growing on me daily.

They are knock on wheels with the centre spinner only, safety wired of course for at least a tell-tale if a spinner tries to loosen.

Regards,
Slide

What is the best way to remove the protective blue stuff of the lettering?
I use sandpaper, but still a pain.

Just pour hot water on it.

Cheers

Wazza 01-26-2016 06:04 PM

As BJ says.....
That blue stuff should come off with Hot sudsy water.
It's just a waxy protective cover they spray on.
Cheers,
Warren
