Have to go LPG?

So here's the first of many questions.

I have an early 2000's 5.0 Windsor. Does this have any chance of passing NSW emission testing or should I be planning to convert to LPG?

Im running a 351w with efi. Will put the best "Kats" I can in, and a good tune.
Testing is to ADR 37/01 if I fail, plan B.......E85?

Hi guys,

I have read on the forum somewhere I just can't find were but the cats in the current Holden/HSV are apparently very good I am sure I read they were Euro 5 rated which is more stringent that ADR 37/1 I believe.

Good luck

Andrew

Yeah you can get an AU Falcon 5.0l to pass with good cats and a good tune. I will be doing the same with my Pace.

Its a can of worms, that subject. Im in SA and my advice may not be worth a bumper in NSW, but here, if you were to run injection and a factory computer your engineer would do an idle sniffer test and you could pass if you have some good cats installed.
But if you need an IM240 test your car goes on a dyno and exhaust gasses are measured. The pass mark is not a high as new cars and many have had their car tuned to get the reqd readings. That depends on what type of ECU you have.
Lpg gas fitting is not emissions free and they could require you to have a 240 test anyway . Your engineer should be giving you all the requirements and regulations that he has to sign off on.
