WTB: ac cobra up to 90k - any classifieds via the cobra club?

Sorry, I'm new to this forum and have been looking for an Australian classifieds to see if there are any cobras selling at the moment that are close to what I'm after.

I havnt seen many pop up this year and I'm hunting down something along the lines of the list below. If anyone can point me in the direction of anyone parting with one, itd be greatly appreciated.

white / blue stripe
preferable big block
preferable coil over set up
original wheels / side pipe
all chrome trimmings

will travel anywhere in the country to inspect.

thanks

Welcome to the forum Julian, if you delete the BB Philm's CR may have been suitable but its sold. And it sold quick.

I guess you can have a few things in your list but not all at once unless you compromise.

There's a beautiful LHD Contemporary that resides in NSW that pretty much satisfies your list and at one time may have been around your price but I'd suggest it'd be double that now even if you could pry it off its owner Stef.

There's another well known entertaining history car on gumtree for even more so I think you are going to need to compromise.

If you weren't in a rush, go to Shelbyfest or the Cobra Nationals with the 90squid in your pocket and pick the car you like and make an offer. You may even get a test drive!

Good luck in your search.

What about a GT40 for 90k ?

Dimis 03-15-2016 07:14 PM

Going to be challenging to get a cobra with a big block.
There are a few Robnell's that come with 385 series BBFs

Here's an example that you may be able to negotiate.
2001 Robnell 429SC Manual

Although it does not meet ALL your preferred criteria its darn close.

The aesthetics like Colour and wheels can be addressed ;)

I'll invoice you a finders fee :p

Also, I wouldn't dismiss doing what Steff, and others have done (CCX car are very nice imho).

Buying a LHD overseas that meets the requirements. This method can have its headaches though. depends if you're up for it.

State

Hello Mr Kil-351,

What State are you in?

I know of a few OFF MARKET Cobra's for sale, they do not meet all of your expectations but they are are a good starting point.

As Mr Spooky mentioned come along to next Months SHELBYFEST in Victoria

and have a look at more than 35 Cobra's in one location.

BTW The Red Robnell @ $95 is a bargain.

Drop me a PM for details.

Dave didn't I see somewhere that the price shown is for the car less engine? Or am I confused again? Happens regularly these days...

albanycobra 03-16-2016 03:30 AM

Nah there are lots of prices....lol.....was tongue in cheek really bringing it up here....not much interest at moment.....I got a few VSCC events coming up so preparing the car for that.

Welcome kil-351. Whatever you do, take your time. Your list will limit you somewhat, but I had a very similar list to yours and found the right car at the right price after a reasonably short time. You just have to look.
you might find a great car at Shelbyfest that changes your preferences.
