I have a note Miss from my Mum

Mmm I was just thinking it's been a while since I have been on here.
Whilst I have been a regular attendee at Victorian Cobra Club meetings I have not done a lot Cobra wise for a while. But I do have a good reason and a " not from my Mum" for for absence. :3DSMILE: I've been out in the Cobra a few times and I've enjoyed driving the little Speedster as its both quite and economical with fuel stops once a week instead of twice a day..:) I've enjoyed finishing my Pilots licence and repainting my plane and flying around. Nothing like a new interest to distract you. I guess we all distracted with family, house renovations etc.. Here's a photo of the biggest distraction. Aerobatic Steen Skybolt with the little Speedster |

Better photo of the plane. Just love it..
It's like showing off the new love of your life.. |
Good to hear from you again Bernie, and not a moment too soon -- the forum has gone into some form of catatonic state so your news is both timely and exciting.
Love the Speedster! Are you planning yellow stripes to match the plane? How many fuel stops between your place and Archerfield? Or Coolangatta? Bags first in line for a ride !!!!! Or is there no room in there for a passenger? |
Bernie, well played. My dream garage right there. I'm green as a freakin leprechaun. Congrats.

Nice toys Bernie, very nice toys.

Hi Bernie,
Tell us more about the speedster. Always liked them. Cheers |

Mike a few extra Speedster photos.
The body was stripped and repainted in the original 356 guards red. Engine runs scat crank, rods and Pistons in 2200cc barrels. Twin Webber carbs through a side winder Porsche exhaust. Re wired with Pertronix ignition added, new Porsche switches sourced from Porsche Sierra Madre. Original Porsche supplied re built steering wheel and 356 Speedster gauges were replaced when re painted. Very little rust with just surface in the rear engine covers due to broken rubber hood seal. I sourced the original German carpet and all leather door hardware during the re paint and ended up trimming in black English leather in unmarked clear skins. |

One more Mike. This photo was prior to the re build.

Is that floor wet or polished !
|
Replica or a real one Bernie? I'm assuming replica since you are talking about scat crank and rods etc.
Cheers |

Rob the floor is a two pack gloss. Hard as hell and always looks wet.
Mike the car is original registered as a 63 Porsche, but with a bit of a story!! Re bodied hence the price. A high powered Volkswagen. |
The plane uses 30 liters to run an hour.
135 knots or 250 km/h ..**) Guess if you look at 250 km in a straight line I'm doing Geelong to Mt. Gambier in an hour. Was using about 50 liters in my car... The car took four hours and spent 90% of my time dodging speed cameras and cops.. If I cut down aerobatics, rolls and loops I'm far safer in the air. |
Sold the other plane and have this new toy.
Specs 165knts - 300km/h. Endurance 5.5hrs. Fully aerobatic. |
I cant see any pics only says "attached images
