Over the last few years this project has been mentioned in the local press sporadically and if and when it finally happens it could and should be a fantastic facility. Unfortunately it seems a very long drawn out procedure due I guess to red tape and a lack of government interest and of course financial backing. I believe they have the land and should be getting close to having the planning approvals in place, the DA was lodged in June 2015. They are yet to arrange finance for or begin construction as far as I know.

Below is an article from 2013:
A $25m motorsport and training facility at Bushells Ridge is a step closer to reality after Wyong Council gave its unanimous support to the proposal.

A group of community and business leaders has a letter of support from the Darkinjung Local Aborignal Land Council to develop a master plan for the precinct on Darkinjung land at Bushells Ridge.

The complex is expected to cost $25m, create 200 full-time jobs and 150 indirect jobs and inject over $17m into the local economy.

The plan has proponents also have the backing of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.

At its last meeting, Wyong councillors voted to support the consortium and use council resources to investigate opportunities to co-locate community facilities within the precinct.

The project also has the support of Central Coast Tourism. Consortium co-founder Brad Wilson said Casar park would be a `game changer' for the region.

"Currently NSW has two key permanent racing facilities in Sydney Motor Sport Park, formerly Eastern Creek raceway, and Wakefield Park near Goulburn," Mr Wilson said.

"Casar Park is the brainchild is a group of local community-minded business people who are passionate about making a difference for the people living on the Central Coast.

"Providing a space for motoring enthusiasts and their families to enjoy their sport is great news for the coast.

"As a group we see the big picture - the economic and social significance of such a facility is not lost on us, the flow-on effect to local tourism, hospitality and retail operators is exactly what our region needs."

The proposed complex will include a 3.5km racetrack on the 115ha site.

Mr Wilson said the development application was the next critical step and the group was aiming to raise $350,000 by September 30 through crowd funding and commercial sponsorships.

STAGE ONE PLANS

Stage one is expected to cost $14m and includes a 3.5 tarmac racetrack, undercover pit garages, driver training facilities, a dual go-kart track-simulated driving environment and associated amenities.

Mr Wilson said the primary objective of the complex was to support club level motorsport, tourism, road safety, driver and rider training as well as automotive skills training.

Here's hoping that they can get it done.

Post Nats there's been talk of another track near the Wyong/Raymond Terrace Area (?) which I thought was this one but it is supposed to already have bitumen down etc etc. CASAR is the only thing I could find on line, and as its still such a long way away from anything I cant figure out what people are talking about????

Does anyone know of any other "circuits" that exist on the central coast??? Got me buggered!

Many years ago ( 2004 ?/2005?)...we had a converstaion with some locals during our annual stop over at Raymond Terrace on the way to the Nationals.

We all got a bit excited thinking about the possibility of holding the Nationals there.
We were told it would have a hill climb section as well as a really top class bitumen race track.
We thought how good it would be, with the cost of hiring the track proposed to be much lower, one less day for the Queenslanders to be travelling to get to the event etc. etc.

It's been all quiet, with no further info coming about this proposed race precinct,
But I searched just now and come up with the following....
Not sure if it helps.
Looks like there will be two new venues on the drawing board.

Raceway project gears up | Newcastle Herald

Ringwood Raceway on track for revamp | Newcastle Herald

That's very interesting Wazz. Thanks for posting. So potentially that's 2 new circuits possible for the central coast.

Seemingly on the face of it, with potentially more venues chasing the motoring enthusiast hard earned dollars it always amazes me how the more established tracks management treat their customers so badly.

That said, in comparison to the more well known tracks, my recent experiences at Morgan Park simply blew me away for their professionalism and friendliness. (I thought I was special until Ash burst my bubble)

The way Australia is we have more chance of flying to the moon than seeing these tracks up and running anytime soon but I hope on this occasion Im wrong. I love the road trip to Wakefield, and you cant do anything about the weather, but they don't exactly go out of their way to make you enjoy spending your money there.

On a sideline...The ex CEO of CocaCola has a private racetrack on the central coast. He sometimes allows corporate events (Holden etc) but liability restricts his activities to his friends. Google Maps...Barnes Road ..Mangrove NSW.

wow what a track, imagine having that sitting in your back yard!

Tengu 10-10-2016 12:41 AM

Wazza 10-11-2016 02:35 PM

Zoom out...it's off to the right of that road.
Cheers,

His son operates the track use now, mainly for friends and friends of friends of friends:LOL: From sources close to him it's rumoured he has a few WRXs garaged there to play with also??

Treeve 10-11-2016 04:14 PM

I've driven on it and it's awesome.

spookypt 10-11-2016 04:33 PM

OMG any chance someone knows someone and can get us in there!!!

Treeve 10-12-2016 05:11 PM

Mostly Fezzas, top end BMWs and a couple of Audi R8's when I was there.

Not sure if the East Coasters have also heard about this one being assembled at Tailem Bend outside of Adelaide.

I wonder if Mr Coca Cola would be interested in the honour of hosting a special CobraFest? I'd drive up for that!

guye 10-14-2016 09:53 PM

Tailed Bend tracks looks awesome, Dave. How likely is it to become reality?

boxhead 10-18-2016 07:28 PM

I have heard no more than latest updates on internet.

ICCARS 10-25-2016 06:22 PM

It's in progress at the moment and will definitely happen as "George" Shahin, as he is more affectionately know and his brothers and sons have to race their Lambo's, Porsche's & ferrari's somewhere other than on the road nowadays.. LOL
