15 inch tyres
Hi all,
i am asking for a mate who has a Mach 1 1971 mustang. He is chasing tyres in the following sizes:- 285 x 40 x 15 265 x 40 x 15 265 x 45 x 15 If anyone has a supplier or a link to one that can supply them, that would be most appreciated. regards Mick |
Search the sizes on eBay and if there are hits for mickey Thompson, then that's proberbly your pick.
Outside of this, there are bugger all options. |
275/50/15 in Avons
|
Never heard of anything in 15" in those sizes - even when 15's were in their heyday. Pirelli used to do a 285/50-15 which Robnell used in the early days.
The only one I could turn up was the 285/40-15 at Tyresales and Tempe Tyres, but out of stock and dare say permanently. Looks like a sprint car tyre though. https://www.tyresales.com.au/search?...y=pricelowhigh Yokohama 2854015 92W V141 | Tyres | Tempe Tyres |
Those are some odd sizes.
This article on what does fit may be of help. Fit Larger Wheels & Tires - Tech Articles - Mustang Monthly Magazine |

235/60 - 15 295/50 - 15 That wont break the bank and call for a second morgage |
Just bought 245/60/15 and 295/50/15 Avons from Leven Motorsport in Sydney.
Great to deal with. As for part 2 of your question.... Yes it will! Cheers |
That is the price you pay for the best road legal gripping 15" tyres available.
I will be getting Avons on my new rims once I determine what will fit and what I like. Means I've a year to save up - lol! |

Hmmm just a thought. |
I reckon I'd be in a group buy if it could be facilitated at some time in the future.

The Avenger GT's come in various 15" sizes but not in a 40 series sidewall. They are only in 50 or 60 series.
