Good find Mike. That's a pretty wild car and if Darren was involved in the bile you'd think it would be put together properly. It'll be the most expensive FFR on the planet!
...or you could buy a complete top fuel car from the same seller and still have enough left over to buy one of the many other Cobras on the market. X-RACHELLE SPLATT TOP FUEL CAR

Depending on the specs of that engine, and who built it, there's potentially $50k just there.
I wonder what the maket is for this sort of a build. Particularly in Aus?
Mike, how did you come across it?
Fishing for a new project?
Or thinking it's time to upgrade that chebby :p

Looks like they have removed the listing.
That cammer is nice though.

Link still works for me Dallas.
I'm always looking at eBay and dreaming Dimis. I'll stick with the chebby for the moment though.
Appears to have none of the structural mods that would improve the chassis rigidity in line with the purpose for which it appears to have been built. The basic kit is about $25K US.

I think the price is optimistic given you could build a cammer powered Kirkham for less than that.
Also given the car could only be put on club rego limits its value in my opinion. An older import contemporary already running and FE would be a better start. The SOHC motor is based on the the FE motor and one could be converted with the right parts. That could be put on full rego if it was a pre 85 build.
Cheers

Makes sense the pre-85 option, but as far as building a Kirkham for less, I'm not so sure...
Just thinking out loud:
Bare minimum outlay for Kirkham with an FE (& NO other options as per their website): About $150K USD ($200K AUD)
Then you've got to ship it and pay the duty on that... kind of puts it around the same price mark as a Kirkham without a cammer, No?
Or am I missing something?
Oh, I hadn't looked at the Kirkham prices for a while. looks like they've gone up a bit.
Cheers

Trust me you can't build a Kirkham with a cammer for that. My engine was $65k when the dollar was at parity. You can still buy an FE at around $25

Here is my 2 cents. What about a Kasse engine. Good reputation and look good doing it. Kirkhams are one beautiful car. Just 175 to 200,000

I think I know someone who'd agree with you there Mike, although he does go weak at the knees when talking about Dave's cammer!

Buying a used Kirkham for roughly $125,000 USD would make better sense. However, I'm not sure how your Aussie "rego" would go with a used Kirkham.
