Evens or Wooley Cobra build
Hi, I purchased a body and chassis a few years ago and would like to find out as much information as possible. From what i was told it was manufactured in SA by Evens or Wooley. how do i find out???
Body is Blue in color and chassis is designed for Jag front and rear. I have managed to fit LS1 motor/auto, Jag front and rear. I understand there was a manual (instruction book) to help with what parts are required to complete. If there is anyone out there that can help, i would be appreciated. Just so i know i am on the right track and cover all based, or can improve on things. I have had heaps of help from sjelby. There must be a few cobras out there built by these guys. cheers, |

'79 Sigma steering column into a VN Commodore rack. Datsun 120y pedal box through a XY Falcon booster/ master into Jag Brakes. Most of the brightwork came from Snake Bite but Don has closed shop so maybe Ueropa Spares or Finishline. Make all your brackets, drill all mounting points, learn to weld, throw alot of **** around your garage while swearing loudly and you will complete an Evans kit. Good Luck. ;) Cheers Brett |

Gee i was lead down the garden path. I was told XD-XF parts mainly for steering column and brake booster and LH Torana steering rack. What radiator did you use? Also do you know the measurements/position for the RHS frame that goes over the chassis to mount the door hinges and steering column? As i have no hinges to work anything out. Best place to run the brake lines from rear to front? Sorry for all the questions. cheers Wayne |
The only xd parts I used are for the door latch/strikers.
Radiator was custom made to fit mine as I wanted 5 core vertical mount. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...e_pics_001.jpg Manual says to use HQ Holden if you want a tilted forward style. Brake lines were run down outer chassis rail then up onto rear bulkhead brace, if you have inboard Jag brakes. Where do you live? Welcome to come look and measure whatever you need if near Canberra. Welcome to the madness. What you'll discover generally is that you'll be able to engineer whatever you'd like to use in the car in most instances. Don't let the manufacturer brand close off other opportunities, even though Evans may have build specific chassis elements to suit certain parts, things can always be amended. For example in my case, I ended up fitting a Rodeo accelerator set up over the G-Force recommended very early Holden part. Chalk and cheese between the two fittings as well. I think I might have digitized copies of both G-Force and RMC kit assembly books. If I have, I am more than happy to email these to you also for reference. It might slow the build down but do good research into what you want to use in your build so you get some good outcomes. Have fun. Cheers Steve |

I think I have a promo video that paul gave me when I bought my kit from him .. doug potts was a close friend of pauls and knows these cars inside and out ..
