Instrumentation clearance to cross-tube on AP
Hello all Absolute PACE owners/builders.
I’m wondering if I have adequate clearance for my instruments. My dash panel is a bespoke aluminium alloy panel that I have had made up to my own requirements as I needed a drop-centre dash panel for my Smiths instrumentation rather that the flat bottomed panel that AP supplied. Question is - can anybody supply me with a clearance dimension from the rear face of the dash panel to the horizontal cross-tube that supports the steering shaft? Cheers, Glen |
60mm on the sister car Glen.

Thanks BJ.
My E-type/XKE speedo is 55mm deep, so providing I can position it with clearance for the speedo cable/connection, it should be OK. Tacho is 50mm deep so will be OK. Have two ‘mechanical’ temp gauges, so their capilliary tubes will need to clear as well. Going to need some luck here I think. Cheers, Glen |
