CR lower front control arm bushes

Hi Guys
My front lower control arm bushes have crumbled and fallen apart. The CR bushes were nolathane and I bought the genuine jag bushes. The nolathane bushes are a hat type bush and the Jag are just a straight rubber bush 13-1139 moulded. Do the genuine bushes need spacers? or just have a gap between the bolt head and arm?

Mine chewed out a set of the upper bushes, I then replaced them with pedders nolothanes and never looked back.
Were they well lubed when installed?

Gav

What would you lubricate the rubber bushes with?

I assume nolethane is more rigid that the rubber bushing and so would it tend to harshen up the ride?

Contact Nolathane straight away... they had a batch of bushes that went pear shaped and they will replace ALL of your crook bushes.... my cousin had the same ailment with his mustang and Nolathane didn't even question him.. Good luck.

Rubber bushes don't need to be lubed.
Nolothane on the other hand don't last if installed dry.
They normally come with a tube from new.

Thanks Gav as yes only originally lubed to get the rubber into place am sure.

So to Nolathane, I assume is a harder plastic style compound, so presumably less give compared to the rubber making for somewhat harsher but more precise feel through the suspension system.

Is that a fair assessment?

Can't recall ever using the product on past cars but then the cobra is by far and away the largest build and amendment I've done to cars I've owned.

Still curious why all the noises emanating from my suspension though!

Ian at CR installed the bushes, everyone he installed has crumbled and fallen out in peaces. They were lubed, I have bought all the genuine jag bushes top and bottom. The CR is a very stiff ride so I dont think the rubber bushes will soften the ride to a point I wont be happy.
The lower rubbers are pressed in so problem solved, the CR has a differnt chasis mount than the jag so i just need to make some shims for the inside of the rubber bushes and they fit fine.

The first line of your reply is probably the answer to your question!!!
