VE Loom

Hi all,
Does anyone have any info on how to rework the wiring loom from VE SS ute with L98 and TR6060 trans to work in a Cobra.

Thanks

I appreciate you may want to do it yourself but a few years ago now but I had my VZ loom modified by Steven Kildey at Killa Kustom Kables.

I was very pleased with his work and he appears to have a good reputation.

I got one from PSI in the USA. Started first go. I had an issue later on with a loose wire but they sorted it out for me.

Australian accelerator has a different plug so you will need to sort that out. They may be able to supply it now as mine was about 5 years ago

I used killa custom harness for mine as well recommend them as well
all wires well labelled , plug & play basically

It’s not a big deal.
Obviously the VAT has to be disabled in the computer.
The plug packs need an ignition supply as the supply comes from the BCM in a standard car. (Anti theft)
Pink wires are ign, orange is permanent 12vdc and black is -ve.
The rest is pretty much plug and play.
Lists of the other cables can be found on line.
Google your model and I’m sure you will find it.
If you are competent electrically, you will do it easy.

Thanks for replies, definitely want to have a go at it myself so appreciate your comments.

It’s best to buy a transplant kit if you want to do yourself. Will cost you more to buy wire and connectors. You can then adjust the length to suit the car.

Ive got a bunch of info for L76 VE E38 ECU. Will that help?

ssv ute 06-26-2018 05:44 AM

That would be excellent Tenrocca, thanks.
From what i am aware the only differance with L76 is cylinder shut down which you wouldn't use on a cobra anyway.
