More Cobra Progress Pics

Just thought you would be interested in a couple of pics of my recently completed rear suspension. This is the left rear and you can probably see the parts for the right rear in behind the car waiting some attention. I figured I would finish off one side and make sure every thing worked out OK before starting on the other side. Still have a couple of things to do, like the hand brake cable and some brackets for the brake hose.

The discs, the discs !

Those are some heavy duty brake discs ! They are as thick as vented discs, but with no vent. What is the make of the brakes?

B in B

The rear end was donated by a 97' Ford Falcon XR8. They are made locally by BTR engineering. The earlier rear ends had skinny discs about 11mm thick. They must have had a problem with warping or something because the new ones have 16mm thick discs. I had to buy two new discs so I figured I'd get the later ones and modify the calipers to suit. With all the holes I drilled in them they shouldn't be to much heavier. They are 285mm in diameter, the same as the front but the fronts are vented and 25mm thick.

Here is a shot of the rear end as it fell out of the back of the Falcon.
