408 hot street
 
what heads, solid roller cam,header size and intake manifold would you guys use for a hot street 408w? with 5speed and 4.1 diff?

There's a guy up here in Qld with a hotty 408 running a 5sp Tremec and 4.11 geared 9".

He's using Edelbrock Vic Jr heads with the std 2.02 and 1.6 valves. Solid roller has .580" and .600" lift with around 260 duration. 1.75" headers and a Super Victor Edelbrock manifold. I think a BG 850 is on top.

It sounds great, seems to make lots of power, and other than the usual lifter and distributor gear wear issues that plague seemingly all solid roller windsor motors, it's been reliable.

Without any traction, and pedalling the car all the way, I think he ran 12.0 @ 128mph at Willowbank. Pump gas motor....
