4 barrel

would a four barrel give me much more hp than webers?

I don't think it would give you as much power as well tuned Webbers but if you drive your car on the street a lot you would probably have a lot less tuning to do. Also possibly better gas mileage. My knowledge of Webbers is from the late 50s and I know they have made huge improvements in them since then but back then they gave more power than a four barrell.

No. Eight properly sized venturi will always be better than four. The same can be said for 8v carburation.

Depends on what do you mean by "power". If it's high end power the answer is a four barrel hands down, assuming that you don't have to go around corners fast. If it's about the street or in some cases road racing the nod goes to the IDA's cool looks. Forget about the webbers tuning problems. Once they are set up they will generally stay put, unless you change your engine setup. And there in lies the problems with webbers. It's hard to leave these hot rods alone now isn't it? Guys change engine setups like I change my socks. BTW- in case you haven't noticed, a good webber setup costs a wee bit more to.
