Robnell - still alive ?
Hey, does anyone know what's up with Robnell? I've just tried to call them and their Bayswater factor number is no longer connected. It was OK a week ago when I rang. Also, their website is not responding. Are they moving location again or are they going out of business ?

I hope they are still going. Robnel make a nice product and are one of the early Aussie Cobra manufacturers. It would be a shame to see them fold.

I was in there a fortnight ago and spoke to the mechanic who was there. Apparently (and this is straight from the mechanic), Rob Darnell has left the company totally, there are two guys working out of the manufacturing plant at Bayswater, all enquiries are directed to Darryl Newman at Essendon Airport which could explain why there is no one answering phones at Bayswater. They still have 6 orders for cars, there are current cars being worked on at the moment and I personally know of 1 three wheeled Robnell after the Nationals that needs to be fixed!

Its not a matter of not answering the phone - when I rang I got the Telstra message saying the number was not connected. Last week when I was speaking to them they said talk to Essendon and when I rang Essendon they said talk to Bayswater. Pretty sus !

I've just got off the phone with Robnell and they told me that they are moving the factory closer to Essendon. Thats why the website and phone have been disconnected. They should be up in a week.

Hey Samurai, how do you find your Robnell compares to the U.S. built cars for quality and finish?

I've never actually sat the car next to a factory built ERA or UNIQUE. I don't think it would be fair to compare a factory built car next to a privately built car. To many variables. I've personally never felt embarassed to show the car. The fit and finish on the Robnell is outstanding. The small detail like how the door closes and having all suspension bolts safety wired say alot about the care they take. Robnell is definitely a high end product. Then again, you guys already know that. The best feature has to be the ride. I've been told by a few people that it's the best riding cobra they've ever been in. It's definitely the best riding cobra I've been in. I have over 7000 miles on it now after almost 2 years. It's been on the track only once (driving school) and I've found the car handle very very well. Samurai |
Hey Ernie,
A fortnight is an old English term meaning a period of two weeks. Ciao, Shawn C |
