Noosa Hill Climb
1 Attachment(s)
Stayed up at Noosa at the weekend and caught the local hillclimb.
With two Cobras out of 150 cars (Nos 149 and 150) it was a long wait in the heat of the bush. Some pics attached. Note - Red Datsun tells yellow Datsun not a good idea to nudge the concrete blocks when taking a corner. Few prangs at the same corner including a newly finished TR4 which I presume is now back at the body shop. Great, but bloody hot. |

Stuart Maxwell's car - quick off the mark.

Final one - Peter McCormack's Cobra - very quiet.
Apologies for lack of action photos, but when you've walked downhill for 3 miles you don't feel like walking back up - retired to Noosa Beach for the remainder of the day. |
Peter - thanks for the pics! I didn't have a chance to get there. The way you were talking about the heat, maybe I'm glad I missed it. It's not a bad part of the world to retire for a cool afternoon drink or two though....
Was the TR4 a bright (almost Ferrari) red? I'd heard about a guy that was to debut his big $$$ rebuilt TR4 there. Some guys with Sunbeam Alpines and Tigers had a BBQ up the road, and they were raving about this new red TR4... Did you see how Stu Maxwell went overall in the gold Cobra? |

The TR4 was definitely white as you can see from the pic below.
A lot of $$$$$$ had been spent on it and this was its first run out since the rebuild. What was interesting was the driver had chinos and a flannelette shirt on - must have been going for his sunday paper. No idea where Stuart came as it was 3 hours between runs - only 2 runs each on Saturday. Been at Scott's this morning - nice set of wheels he had - would look good on your ute (similar to the ones you got). Suspension now lifted at the back - looks like a Cobra again. To re-visit soon for the front. Nice place he has - its like walking back into history! Bits of Cobras everywhere. |
What's the deal with yellow Z-cars... Either crashing, or driving past crashed cars !
How much did you lift the rear? I bet that would have been a shock to see it lifted for the first time, but you'll love not hoaving to worry so much about dragging it's bum on the slightest driveway or speedbump... |
You're right.
Z-Cars every where. There is a 240Z (Racing Green), which appears at most of the meets which is very quick and very well driven. Its not always the car (driver helps) as the Yellow Z driver would no doubt be thinking. The car's rear has been lifted approx 25mm on the existing hot rod???? shocks. The front's waiting for some of Scott's customisation powers. Certainly looks better, rides better and no more clipping the driveway. Will be looking at those good looking ute wheels to fill the arches - or may be not - Engine next, body shop last. |
18s on the Cobra ? Another pimp-mobile, huh ?!? ;)
I bet they'd look fantastic ! |
CRAIG!!!!!!...dont encourage that English immigrant...the only reason he's raising that thing of his is so he can get unda it and hang some neons :3DSMILE:
