Thanks for the pics, Jason! What size wheels are on that red one ?!? I like it - a lot !

If the blue "original 289FIA" is the one I'm thinking of, it's actually a John Ohlsen replica from New Zealand. According to the Aust Classic Car article from a couple of years ago, I believe that the replicas have the blessing of ol' Carroll, but they're still replicas. It's a beautiful car....

There are a handful of original 289 road cars in Oz, but no real 289FIAs - unfortunately.

Them's some big wheels. Garrett was saying they were something like 335/30/20 on the rear.

Cheers

Hi Jason,

I noticed the groovy air intake on your car. Is it functional? Can you post a pic of it?

Regards

Cameron

335? Great !!! What sort of kit is it? It's funny how having the rim so far up inside the wheel arch makes the arch look low - similar to the JBL Cobras in the States...

Does it have a good motor in it?

Heyyyy....Looks like it was a great day...a credit to the organizers.

A credit to all the owners for turning up with their cars ... nothing turns organisers off more quickly than un-supporting members.

Congrats to you all for putting on a great show.

I'm so impressed I'm not even going to have my customary dig at Victorians.

Hey what a great day.

:3DSMILE:

I got a little wet travelling up from Geelong with Bryan and then went home getting sunburn.

Yes it was good having the AC car there. David Rodd the owner had his red AC car there and was telling everyone who was interested the history on the car.

The second original that turned up was also Davids car that he had sold to a friend. It was a car built by John Oulsen ?? in
New Zealand.

It had a full history from Oulsen involving the building of 5 cars under the direction or blessing of Shelby.

No doubt our US - SACC friends will correct or confirm this information. Both great looking cars.

The red car was very similiar to the CSX4000 cars that I saw and mucked around in at the 'Run N Gun'.

Again a great day. Check out the 'Show us your Toys' Thread
for next Sunday at Hamilton.
