Hi guy's,
Went down to Pickapart yesterday to do some research and to try and find a few bits and pieces, this is what i found, check it out I couldn't belive my luck,:D:D:D this olgirl runs, everything works and is on gas too, even has EFI, shame the body is rusty(no actually lucky its rusty or it would be a project on its own lol) Endind up paying $1000 for her:LOL:   The diff ratio is 307 i think, a 354 would have been better, but at least my ball is rolling:):):) and now i have something to do while waiting for my kit to arrive. Check in my gallery its there Cheers Robo |
Looks good. By the time you strip it and sell the remaining parts you will probably make money on the deal. :D

Good afternoon (my time) Wildac: The Cobra I purchased was supposed to have XKE suspension and steering, and I think it probably does, but the rear end is from a '66 or '67 MK 10 sedan, according to the Jag expert that just rebuilt the half shaft stub axles. Do you know exactly what model your Jag sedan is, so I can match that up with the illustrations in my XKs Unlimited Parts Catalog? I'm still trying to figure out precisely what suspension components I have. Thanks, Rich.

Robo,
That's what the import papers and rego label says my Cobra is.   Cheers, Bryan |
Bryan,
Yours must be the sports model :D Cheers |
Very good score there Wildac, I agree with Mike, once you keep what you want advertise the rest in the Melbourne tradeing post and sell the rest in pieces.
I bought my front end from the tradeing post and the guy I bought it from did the same, he bought a complete car for the rear end (he paid $1250 for his car) once he sold all the bits and lots of people called him, he said the rear end was free. |
Hi all,
Yeah i was pretty stoked to get it for $1000, there are so many usable parts on this car its crazy and the bright work is in fantastic condition. Its be real nice if the leftovers paid for the reconditioning of the suspension and the shortening of the rearend, although I'll prolly do that my self one i have the wheels and kit in the shed. Man how much longer is it gonna be?????????   Badrich, G'day The above pic is a 1982 series Dailmer sov, for more info try Jaglovers.com, very helpful site. It seems i was wrong on the ratio its not a 307 its actually a 336. Cheers Robo |
