Hi all
Aussie Mike makes the best pipes I have ever seen. He's pretty expensive though. %/ Post some pictures Mike Try Di Fillipo exhaust in Melton Victoria. I have just finished talking with them about side pipes and they have made all types of exhausts and will also supply the parts to do your own. Aussie Mike told me he uses these guys  jpfletch1 - I'm guessing that with a Backdraft you are either in South Africa or the States so Aussie suppliers are not much use. Still we do have some good designs/types. Cheers Bernie Bernie Knight Mt. Gambier South Australia :MECOOL: Cruising in the sun |
Leeroy sent me some pics of the cosmetic side pipes he's getting from Don. Very nice work, a real cool traditional style to them too.
Thanks Bernie, I've made mine with emissions compliance and servicability in mind so they aren't as pretty as Don's. They have cat converters inside them and are easy to strip and repack. Don't know what they sound like but I'll find out in a few months I guess. There are some pics in my gallery if you are interested. Darren DiFilippo has been making side pipes for Python lately and he does some nice fabrication work. He's been very helpful with supplying materials for my headers and exhaust and he's a real enthusiast. Cheers |
Make sure you let us know how LOUD they are Mike.
I too like the idea of legal working side pipes and if you can get yours to pass emmisions then I may attempt to make a pair aswell. |

Mike, Will let you know happens regarding the side pipes with Darren. %/ Looking into it at the momment. Will also try and get to the club display at "Picnic at Hanging Rock". Cheers Bernie |
One thing to keep in mind is that s/steel sidepipes can sometimes sound a bit more "tinny" than your everyday mild steel set.
just my 2 cents Craig W :) |
Just picked up the latest - in Australia - copy of Kit Car and there is a two page article on exhausts with some web. sites.
Makes good reading and viewing of sites. :3DSMILE: Bernie |
