intake adaptor

OK, I've contacted a bunch of steel tubing companies and they cant help me. Maybe your good people can.

I need to make an adaptor plate. One end will bolt to the air flow sensor(intake) and the other will be a tube that the pod air filter will attach to. I want the tube to be around 84mm outside diameter.

I was going to make it from aluminium but they only seem to make 80mm and 100mm.

Any ideas?

Hi Cameron,

If you're not up to doing it yourself then go and see Sean Mullins at Sean Mullins Race Cars, Fact 5 97-101 Bayfield Rd, Bayswater (9720-5473). Sean has a reputation for being an excellent fabricator and welder and specialises in Aluminium. It's probably worth the trip out there just to see the cars in his shed.

I think he is there Saturday mornings but ring first to check.

Cheers,
Adrian.

Cameron,

Where are you running the air intake hose - through the wheel arch?

Mine is set up that way - consists of a 90 degree aluminium casting off the air flow meter into the wheel arch with a flexi (corrugated) tube connected to the pod at the front of the rad (stuck onto the rad housing using blue-tac) - never fallen off:3DSMILE:

Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Peter, yes I'm running duct through the wheel arch and putting the pod behing the brake cooling duct/headlight. The area will then be sealed off.

Hi Cameron

I have seen a picture of what I think you are modifying. The best place as Adrian S has said is to try a speciality race car builder or a manufacture of hot rod speciality "bits". Hubby used the standard buy off the shelf rubber intake.

Hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers
Lyn M

Hope this pic works.........not quite sure how you do it! :(
