Speed Sensors
Just as I thought the Cobra was running well, another (not another) electrical issue has arisen.
The problem I'm getting, which is sporadic, is that the speedo is going wild (bouncing):( not good with those mobile radars around). Also find that when its bouncing I lose any ability to kick down through the gears, still accelerates with no problems, but simply won't drop a gear when under hard acceleration. I run a LE95 Auto and think it may be a dirty speed sensor. Does anyone know where they are on the tranny so that I can clean them up? Those infernal electrical issues  |
Hi Peter,
On my trans (auto) its near the back about 6 inches from the tail shaft and on the drivers side. Mines an electronic transducer so it has wires comming out of it. Its held in place with a single screw. |
Thanks Cameron,
Will check it out later this week and report back:3DSMILE: |

BLAH
BLAH BLAH :p :p :p |
Wondered how long it would have taken you Mike to come back with that one.
Have you got your long johns on yet??????????? |
No long johns yet but I had to fire up the shed heater the other day. The only sun burn I'm getting these days is off the welder.
 Hopefully when the good weather returns I'll have a Cobra that makes it's own broom broom noises. Cheers |
By the way, what does blah blah blah mean - is it some obscure reference to sheep???
|
Cameron,
No wires on that side of the tranny. Scraped under the car and found a solenoid (I think) near to the neutral switch covered in oil. Cleaned up the connection and will see if that was the problem. As it is intermittent, I think it is more of a connection problem rather than a vss replacement issue. Time will tell:( |
www.Kalecoauto.com Try this mob! they should have a solution to your problem:3DSMILE:
