Swirl pot & Fuel pump

Hi Guys,

Thought you might like to see the combination swirl pot pump assembly I built for the Cobra. Boxhead kindly gave me a fuel pump assembly from a VX LS1 commodore and I thought I'd adapt it up to my fuel tank. Unfortunately the commodore pump assembly is way too tall to fit in the tank. I wanted to build a swirl pot to ensure positive fuel flow at all times. I got looking at the VX pump and thought I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone here.

I'm using an intank low pressure lift pump to push fuel from the main tank to the swirl pot. There are 2 fittings welded into the pot for low pressure in and out. they are set up to promote swirl so as to keep the air bubbles out of the fuel. The high pressure lines are part of the pump assembly sticking out the top.

I've just got to weld some brackets onto the swirl pot so I can mount it in the rear guard and then run in my fuel lines.

Here's a picture: Swirl Pot

Cheers

Mike,

You should be patenting all these ideas you come up with.

We'll be looking at one of the most unique Cobra's around.

Mind you, how about competing with this paint job:

Joseph's Technicolour Cobra

Now is that the most psychodelic Cobra in the World.

Pretty bloody cool:MECOOL: :MECOOL: :MECOOL:
