hp

well the good news or the bad news these are all HP readings at the back wheels all cars were aloud to rev to 5500 but as soon as the chart went downwards the run was stopped;) :p Im as shocked as any one the bar has been raised some what

Aussie Mike 06-30-2004 09:36 PM

He He He!

I shoulda run my ute up. The last dyno day I did it made 260HP at the wheels. That would have knocked you off your 5th place spot there Jason.

The ute is pretty much showroom stock. So it looks like you guys need to get your spanners out and get tuning before the nationals.

AC Andy and me will be hosing past you in our XR8 utes if we haven't got our Cobras running by then.:p

Cheers

And what engine have you got in that ute Mike?

REPTYL 06-30-2004 10:53 PM

Jason,

What goes round, comes round;)

Aussie Mike 06-30-2004 11:32 PM

Yep it's a Ford engine and I'm proud of it. I never said I didn't like Fords, I just like stiring you guys up:D

Interesting to note though at that same dyno day where I made 196 Rear Wheel KW (260HP) the LS1 powered Utes with just a set of headers, an exhaust, a cold air intake and a remap of the factory ECU were making an easy 220 Rear wheel KW 295HP.

A couple of LS1 utes there also had a change of cam and valve springs and were making 260-270 Rear Wheel KW 350-360HP. A few with a bit of cylinder head porting as well were pushing nearly 300KW 400HP.

Looks like you'll have to spend more cash on NOS and blowers and less on chrome widgets if you want to catch us.:p

Cheers

Don't want to hear about your mates Utes, Mr Murphy.
What sort of HP is your Cobra pushing these days:confused:

Sorry Mikie, I don't need to spend a cent.
At the moment, I could catch your Cobra on my little girl’s pushbike.

Guess we'll talk at Wakefield:cool:

chew me

nice call king jason the 1st, any body without a running registered car can do the previble chew me !!!!!!!! we'll see when its on the road whether or not you've got horsepower . and while I'm hear i would like to remind those with LS1 they are in fact 350 cubes versus 302 let compare apples with apples. also another thing your ute also is a lard arse Im tipping the the cobra is lighter so horsepower alone ain't gonna do it. Im sorry that i had to get this off my chest but Im having a bad day and I cant abuse any of my patients as they are the ones paying you lot however its free for all

kiss kiss hope your day turns to mud like mine

PCC 07-01-2004 04:39 PM

Remember guys,

Size is not everything - its how you use it:D

At the end of the day, too much power - not enough traction.

I'm sure a certain 859HP (Is that the current figure) Cobra would agree that too many horses results in a very difficult beast to control.

Such beasts are suited to the drags or track only. Try getting round a sharp bend at speed with huge HP - Difficult.

We should survey who has the most traffic offences from driving their Cobra - the big boys or us "relatively little" boys.

Chew You

I chew you Jason 2 and spit you out.

Its all about cubes, other wise you would have put a little merc motor in and then really have an excuse to say Oh:CRY: Oh:CRY: is not apples with apples

Time to off load your barmix, and get a KENWOOD
