Ford HP

I called past the dyno shop and there was a cobra with a 302 windsor plus a few other bits bolted to it.Being run up through the rev range. At 4806 it made 2119.lbft at5864 it made 610 Hp at the back wheels. So who needs a chev motor when Fords are better

WOW - that's 1939hp at 4806 rpm. Must be some special "other bits" bolted on!!! ;)

Seriously though, 610 at the wheels is amazing. What sort of dyno. What sort of turbos/blower/nitrous? Was it a blue RMC with Yates heads or a red RMC with an auto by any chance?

Terry

Sounds/looks like a good car. What Cobra was it?

%/

Was with Darren Di Fillipo today at Melton, and he had the blue Cobra there with the red and white stripes fitting an exhaust.

Anyone know who owns this car now?. Think it was a Tucker car used in his advertising. First saw it shortly after it was on the road at a club meeting in Melbourne few years back now.

Cheers

Darren has done a few cars for Python in the past. He recently re did the sidepipes on George's own car.

Fords are better? They are both good, it's just another way to skin the cat.

For 610HP I bet it had lots of special bits bolted to the inside of it as well. I doubt there was much standard Ford stuff left in it. Did it have factory heads?

My point all along is that the LS1 can make some good numbers with basically stock factory components.

Garretts car made 550HP on a factory stock bottom end, original factory heads with a little porting, bigger cam and springs but the rest of the valve train is stock. Factory manifold, throttle body and fuel rails etc just bigger injectors to feed the beast. and only 7 pounds of boost too.

Cheers

Garrett, you stirrer. :D

Hi all

From what I have read the LS1 is a cheap hot up option to get those numbers.

Then again those wealthy 'kitchen/bathroom' guys can afford plenty

Garrett what if you increased the boost from 7lb

Are you driving over to Doug's on Saturday?

Bernie

Cheers
