Sick

You Guys are just sick i think you need a head doctor to get over that.
My idea of cleaning the cobra is put an anti static strap on it and go for a fast drive . done . All the dust is gone to easy.::JEKYLHYDE

Scotty,

My kids say sick is good.

I was wondering how long it would take you to reply!

I get hassled because I don't WASH my car let alone get into a quarter of what you do. The best mine gets is a drive in the rain! If you do that with no top then you can wash the interior as well :)
I might give it a scrub for Thursday so the boys won't pick

Thanks for the write up. As you say, once you have done it a few times it probably won't seem that bad. I'd think the first time would be the hardest, then you have a foundation to work with after that.

If anyone reads that and thinks 'holy crap that's a lot of work' just remember that the next time you go to a 'pro show' and are stunned at the incredible paint job on a car it didn't happen by accident, or that it's 'only the paint'. It is a lot of work, but it's also a lot of 'result' too.

regards
Doug I

Thats exactly right...

You only have to doit right the 1st time and it will probably take you the longest....But remember that next time it will take you less than the 1st time and so on and on.....

The more you do it and frequently the less it will take you to doit next time....

EG: Like during summer it takes me 30 min and the car is spotless....bare in minde the car gets waxed 6 times a year...:JEKYLHYDE

STASIK---

I know how you got your name -- Is this the same process your therapist uses.

I but your vehicle is a beauty --

Excellent advice

It's the exact procedure I use on my cobra.. which has 6 clearcoats and is NOT a daily driver. The only difference is, I do not normally use a power buffer (except to remove spiderwebs with polish paste) and I use Griot's Garage brand Speed shine and paint clay between wax jobs. Lots of PURE 100% cotton cleaning cloths, too. Duster before each drive.

Stasik

Just one question what are you doing next Saturday.

My Cobra will be back together and will need a detail after going to the panel and then the paint shop.

Interesting read and some good ideas there. I always wondered what the best tyre shine was/is?

Thanks

Bernie

G'day Stasik,

I remember meeting you a couple of vic cc meets ago. As I walked outside I recall Mike Murphy and yourself looking under the hood of your Audi. Night was upon us so I couldn't see the level of detail of your car maintenance. Next time I WILL have a look.

All I do know is that I would hate to be your girlfriend!
:D :p :D

Al,

One point missed out of the cleaning regime.

Storing said vehicle i.e. under cover etc.

Mine prefers pink pj's. It was the only colour flanalette (cotton) sheets I could get at the time.

Pink and blue - nice colour;)
