Car Shows

Has anyone got any unusual stories about car shows?

I went to one yesterday with the Cobra at Shailer Park (Southside of Brisbane) and was turned away!!!

I was told I turned up too late and they had a cut off at 9.30 (BLOODY UNBELIEVABLE).

As my better half said to the security guy - YOUR F$&*IN LOSS!!

So we parked up round the corner and had our own show for 30 minutes with a Cadillac, Hot Rod, V8 Ute, and Holden HQ.

Plenty of admirers....

Then left and headed back to the local Winery for coffee (It was only 10AM)

Had some Malaysian tourists taking their obligatory photos so invited them to sit in the Cobra for that extra special picture.

High heeled pointy shoes - not ideal when getting out of the car!

Any other stories.........

I was at the Geelong all ford day a couple of years ago and getting all the usual great car comments when I herd one guy say to his mate as they were walking away "It's only a replica It's not a genuine Robnell" :JEKYLHYDE
Cheers,
Bryan

By the Way, I was a late entry that morning and The Coastal Cruisers Car Club moved mountains to get my car into their show, and on the concourse inside (as opposed to outside with all other late entries).

I even had a lift home on a tilt tray after the local fuzz decided to defect all cars as they left. Funny really considering the major beneficiary of the CHARITY show was the PCYC.

A recent show in Hamilton Victoria was on the calendar of the "Henry's Classic" a Ford club from M. Gambier.

Seeing I hate driving I went along with about 25 other cars for the trip to Hamilton about and hour and a half away.. My car being the roughest was at the tail end of one of the best moving car shows.

Well we turned up to be told that it was $30 to diplay per car site. So we drove around the corner and did the same thing (parked ) and went for a coffee.

We ended up having most of the crowd outside around our cars which were joined in the Safeway carpark by about 80 other cars that had travelled from Geelong and Ballarat.

Had a great day and didn't even go into the show. This event is on again later in the year and we are invited back

SHOW US YOUR TOYS at Hamilton.

I am trying to get a free site for the Cobra Car club!!
