Found a Robnell
Found a Robnell for sale in NSW close to where I work.
Its an '88 build (No 4). Looks in pretty good condition for age. Running 351 with Quad Webers. Side pipes, centre locks, quik jacks , oil cooler. Traditional blue with white stripes. Registered till August 05. Asking price $89,990. If anyone interested let me know and I will give contact details. Phil |

My wife was impressed when I told her about the Robnell for $89K compared to what she thinks my Cobra cost, at $155K she will think I am an investor. Just think how we can justify spending money on our toys now:D :D :D :D PS whats it got for $155K?? Phil |

The exchange rate is currently around AU$1 = US$0.70 AU$155,000 works out to about US$108,000 AU$89,000 works out to about US$62,000 Robnel probably is/was Australias Premium Cobra manufacturer and have been around for a long time. Unfortunately I think they have recently shut their doors. Cheers |

Maybe: Motec injected 580 HP Ford 6.0L built by Chris Gibson; Tilton twin plate clutch; Tremec TKO 5 Speed box; AP 6 Piston Brakes; Koni double coil over adustable Suspension; and Sparco Seats. Oh and silver stripes! Reg NSW SK-656 Must be a bloody good engine to get near that price. |
Hey guys, the blue Robnell is a beautiful car, it was at the nationals in 02', it is owned by a gentleman named Chris, it has about 450hp, spent a bit on suspension and brakes as well! The red one was at the nationals last year! Did anyone see it?? It has about 250K spent on it (so the owner said) he said it had about 650hp last year (don't know what happened there!). The car literally flew around wakefield blitzing the rest of the field, awsome to watch! Don't know what times he did but it was very, very quick! has been in Targa Tasmania and the East Coast rally as well! sounds awsome at idle and at speed. By the way, Robnell is still in business, I heard they just downgraded a little!

I'm not biased. I said "Robnel probably is/was Australias Premium Cobra manufacturer" since I wasn't sure Robnel that is still in business.
I've been over AC514's car from top to bottom during his build. I think the Robnel is a great car that's very well engineered with great attention to detail. I looked closely at the Robnel when deciding on which kit but the $36K price tag for the basic kit turned me off. While it's a comprehensive kit and is probably a fair price for what you get my plan was to build the car as I could afford it. Yes I like my Classic Revival as it has a lot of features that appeal to me. But there are also quite a few things I've felt I needed to change. That's all part of the fun of building your own car be it a Cobra or a Hot Rod or whatever. Get to know me a bit better before you call me biased. Cheers |

I've looked at the Robnells and the Classic Revival. Sure the Robnell has a lot of holes drilled and taped brackets etc. but I think your Classic Revival is equally as good. Now lets compare prices.. Bernie |
I better correct myself there as I just read my own signature. I guess I am a little bit biased regarding the engine choice for my Cobra :p

Aussie Mike, when I said biased, I meant me! not you! I was saying that because I have one. I think the classic revival cars are fantastic! I also didn't go for a new Robnell roller because of the pricing, let alone a new factory built one! I too have a limited budget. I was fortunate enough to find one and it happened to be a Robnell, which is what I've always wanted. Only downside is it wasn't completely to my liking so I went and stripped the whole thing to get redone! NOW I think about what if I'd gone with a new roller of another manufacturer ie: CR etc. Certain issues with the NSW registration laws I disliked if I was to build a new one like third stop light, side indicators, late model motor etc etc. I figured just get one that is already registered without all that stuff. Call me lazy but, I had a pretty crap experience with my first build in 88', it was an RMC, that experience unfortunately turned me off going through it all over again hence the factory built preference.
