Thanks for the results, guys! Let the statisticians go crazy. Very interesting to see how some of the mild engined, well set-up cars take the prizes over the big block / blower / race guys......
Hmmmmmm, I think there's something in that for all of us, don't you??? |
Jason, thanks for posting the results. :)
You guys are lucky it rained on Friday, if QLD guys had got a practice day in... Actually considering we only had 3 street registered cars entered, not including race class cars, we are all stoked with the result. Here is what the 3 cars brought back: John White - 5 litre, well actually only 4litre. 1st GoToWhoa 1st 1/8th Drags 1st Sprints (1st overall and he didn't even get 3 goods runs as accident & late rain stopped it) 6th Hillclimb (as it rained) KING COBRA Peter Hancock - 5 litre 2nd GoToWhoa 2nd 1/8th Drags 4th Sprints 4th Hillclimb(only 2 runs) 3rd Show Class (we race show cars up here) Best Sounding Cobra 3rd KING COBRA(shared) Paul Gillis - Twin Turbo 4 Litre 6th GoToWhoa(2nd last) 2nd 1/8th Drags 2nd Sprints 2nd Show Class (well even Paul races this fine machine) Best Engine Bay 5th Hillclimb Actually pretty proud to be a Queenslander. ;) And pretty proud to be brother of the KING :) Also thought it was a good idea to have race class trophies. Might encourage some more race Cobras to roll up. We just do that much racing up here, we would have 10 street cars that are at this standard. Anyway, we had a great time, it was a great weekend. Thanks to NSW guys for putting on a great event. Actually I just can't put into words what a fantastic job they did. |
Well said Craig,
Considering the number of entries from QLD - excellent results! Also knowing the number of racing events that Cobra's take part in QLD I hope its not too rich to say that it would be what was expected. Also well done to NSW for playing hosts. |
Hey Craig (750hp)
Do I detect a rethinking of your powerplant?. A possible change in the future perhaps?. ;) A new car perhaps? :3DSMILE: How about a high reving small block daytona? .... we can put a 30cm 40's style gurney bubble on it for ya. |
Im happy with how I went:D
Considering it was the first time I drove the damn car and I wore my jeans and track shoes... Next year I will be back with a bit more fire in my belly and possibly a mini... then I will show you how it is done. I dont really think tight off camber corners are best suited to the Cobra, however Wakefield was quite exciting to drive!! Watch out!! Todd:p (Drive it like its your dads!! muhahahaha) |
Just to let you know also there was a Mini lapping Wakefield in 1.09.42 on the weekend... not bad for a Supercharged 1.6lt hey??
I dare say this guy can drive a little better than what I can!! Todd |
