I keep hearing talk about a Victorian who owns a fast AU Falcon Ute. In hot "Pursuit" of a way for my own V8 ute to keep up, I couldn't pass up this opportunity.... (Well OK, I knew it was fun to be blown for my weekend ride, but now I can be blown daily  )

Here Mikey, Mikey :)

Craig

Don't divert his attention from finishing the Cobra now..

This could be a challenge he will want to take up.

Come on now Mike, keep focus on the Cobra and get that one finished first.

BMK 11-12-2004 05:19 AM

Not to mention the extension, garden, new fence, wife's car...

boxhead

Then he has six sets of side pipes, 10 sets of bonnets hinges, boot hinges, 6 roll bars, radiator supports, 11 battery boxes, 11 sets of over - riders, 14b bumpers.....

So there..leave him alone to work.

Is that a V1 S-trim? It'll certainly blow off the Pursuit with that under the hood.

What are you going to do about fuel and ignition remapping?

Cool stuff Craig, keep us posted on the development.

Cheers.

The Dark Side is getting darker.

And spreading like a plague...

It's the newer style V2 SQ Trim. They have helical gears, rather than the straight cut gears of the V1 and V7 blowers. This makes them a fair bit quiter. They also have a slightly higher step-up ratio (3.6:1 compared to 3.45:1), so more boost for the same size pulley. It's set for 10psi @ 5500rpm.

While the rest of the engine is standard, I'm just going to use the chip that CAPA supply for the kit. This looks after ignition mapping, and the Vortech FMU looks after fuel pressure to compensate for the boost. All very basic at the moment. I can see a low-comp stroker with alloy heads, free flowing intake and exhaust and a Motec in the future.

It'd probably need an air to water intercooler as well....

If it's going to be intercooled, I may as well buy a smaller blower pulley for more boost..

Then I'll need to get some 18" drag radial tyres.....

Then I really should get a carbon fibre tonneau cover...

Then the suspension should be lowered - maybe airbags...

It'll probably need a Tremec TKO 600 then....

Then.... what happened to my daily driver that wasn't ever going to be modified ??? It's an addiction, I tell you !

He really should see a doctor about that.
