From what I understand,
nobody has attempted to fit an australian dohc 5.4 engine which will become more available in future as the falcons age a little.
That version is unique to australia I believe and most of the engineering was done in oz.
Peter has only modified his chassis to take up to 4.6 quad and I think 5.4 single cam is roughly the same width.
If Ford would make a serious attempt to make a clean sheet engine design designed for performance/passenger cars instead of back engineering truck engines we may get something more compact and suitable.
But I suppose we should be happy that its overhead camshaft design at least and not still using "pushrods" like some of the "other " late model engines..
theres always a lexus i guess......
