Rules are rules... Bernie |
Ralph,
If they (you know the powers that be) won't let you have white stripes, I'm more than happy to allow you the silver one's Two 100mm stripes with 70mm centre and two 15mm outer stripes with 5mm gap - Hope that makes sense**) **) **) |
Pete
Straight or tapered? |
Tapered ?????????????????
Straight of course - parallel too!!!!! |
nice looking stripes, PCC. very nice looking.
Kristen |
Ive got the layout including all the measurements if you want to setout your stripes like the original SC cars in the sixties. I cant remember exactly but I think they start at 9" at the top of the windscreen and boot and taper down to 7 1/2".
If your interested let me know. Regards. |
Congratulations Ralph,
Looks like you've got a summer of fun ahead of you. :MECOOL: Cheers |
thanks guys .... I think
Stripes will come at some time (to differentiate from all the blue with blue stripes in Canberra - sorry David, except you) .....
But colour is not my choice - the Better Half will have opinions, and it will depend on what changes are made to the interior (gotta match the stripe colour with the upholstery ;) !!!) But on the chance that she chooses silver, thanks for your permission for silver Peter, and Kristen, may I use white stripes if she who must be obeyed requests them? Mando: I'm interested (sorry Peter), but that is not to say they will end up tapered - and I like the look of the outer stripes. But interior first, then stripes (after some other more urgent work, like a new demister before rego check). |
Ralph
Now the stripes on my car are as per the Midstates and Contemporary specs. They are tapered and run exactly as standard. The over guard/fender is an option. I have the new Factory Five Race spec pack here and the DVD has a neat blue Cobra on the sound track intro. with light yellow stripes. Looks good. %/ Now you would not like to match the interior. Have fun. Don't wear it out before I get up there to go for a drive with you ACT guys. Bernie. |
Ralph
%/ 'Aussie Desert Coolers' and radiators who advertise in the Australian Street Rod magazine have a 100mm x 100mm heater/demister. Bernie |
Thanks Bernie - I'll chase 'em up ........
|
Well, you learn something everyday.....
I didn't realise that the original stripes were tapered, but then again I've never been lucky enough to view an original in real life:( Bern, What's the difference between the top and bottom of the tapered stripes (if that makes sense)? Ralph, I presume your interior is black and if so what colour would you like the external to be? Personally, you can't go past Bernie's beast (Guardsman Blue I think) - very nice;) But then again, if you haven't got permission for white stirpes then Galaxy blue is a pretty nice colour with the obligatory silver stripes:p :p |
permission granted. Guardsman Blue, Wimbledon White Stripes.
|
Many thanks Kristen ..........:) but the colour is apparently "Moody Blue" (from Nissan).
Peter: have posted interior shots - black (with some grey and other things). But I expect to change some of that and then match the stripes. |
Ralph,
Are sure you're not on the dark side. That dash looks like something out of star wars;) Nice bit of cow hide with sliver stripes and you'll be there:p |

Ralph,
Moody blue with some Moody Blue stripes.. Just get your paint guy to put a little of the blue in the white...%/ Bernie |
kristen
Hey what are you trying to do.. Dozens of them little clones running around Oz in "Guradsman blue' and 'wimbledon white'... Anyway I'm not giving out the codes...:3DSMILE: Bernie |
I think I can explain the stripes
Stripes - mine a slightly different,. as I left the figures at home and we guessed when in the paint booth...%/
%/ PCC Hi Pete, Yes I know what you mean. See if I can explain.. there is an 1 and 1/2 difference between the stripe starting at the lip of the dash and finishing under the nose cone. At the dash lip - just in under above your gauges the stripes are; 7 and 1/2 wide with a 1" gap. When they get to the nose cone below the oil cooler position they have reduced to 6". The rear styripes start at 7 and 1/2 between the seats and go down to 6 and 1/4 wide as the body gets to the back chassis rail under your fuel tank. We placed the 1" centre lines in first and then ran the others with some guide masking tape to run to. Now I think if you put 'stripes' in the search you will get the Midstates site with the car plan. It also has the badge positioning plan there. Now gumballs that another thing.. Bernie |
Mucked up trying to put stripes diagram on
