Exhaust port shape LS1
 
All those out there running LS1 motors:D :D :D :D

Do any of you have a photo of the exhaust ports. The reason i ask is that I looked at mine today and the seem the be an unsual shape, Any ideas?**)

That's the D shapes LS6 exhaust port. They flow much better than the round LS1 exhaust port.

You've got to think about how the gasses flow. They stick to the outside of the bend so the floor of the port is a bit of a dead zone. By filling in the floor of the port the port will flow the same for less port volume thereby increasing gas velocity. Or so the theory goes.

As mike has replied, the D shaped ports are LS6 (good thing)
My engine has the oval ports as used on LS1, here is a pic.
