Phil, Your wheels need a clean
|
That safety wire needs to pull the other way.
 |
I was going to say the same thing Les

Hi Phil,
I went looking through your gallery after seeing the mag photo and I was wondering where does the orange duct I can see behind your front wheel go? Regards. |
Les,
I might be wrong (often am) but my idea with the wire was as an indicator only. I put the wire on slack , if it gets tight it means there is movement?? The wire is not actually meant to stop turning. Have I got it all wrong. More than happy to learn. Les , you are going to Winton? Mando, the orange pipe is a 4" duct connecting cone shaped k&N filter to TB. The filter is mounted in front of radiator. This is only temporary. I plan to make up inlet pipe in aluminium and shield the filter as it gets dirty real fast in its curent position. If (when?) I go with PD blower I will probably run two x 4" filters out front with alumium ducting to the TB. Phil |
Phil, I think it is a preferance call. I would prefer to see the wire attached to the wheel spoke to the right of where its currently wired to.
That would have the safelty wire in tension all the time and would prevent any loosening of the knock off. There is a thought that any loosening of the nut leads to the nut friction welding itself onto the wheel. Then you would have to get Mikes patent wheel nut remover but double the length of the lever to get ya spinner off. |
